GETTING STARTED

_______

Welcome!

I am so honored that you’ve chosen to partner with me to create the perfect website for your business needs. Below, I’ve detailed what this process will look like and what you can expect.

1. What I need from you

  • Your logo (.PDF, .EPS, or high-res .JPEG)
  • Hosting Login
  • WordPress Login
  • Any images or pictures you’d like used on your site
  • A branding board, style guide, colors, or any special graphics to be used

(If we’re starting completely from scratch on this area, that’s totally fine! Just let me know.)

2. Dropbox

If you’re not already familiar with Dropbox, it’s a fabulous file sharing system. This won’t be necessary for every project, but if you have more than 15 or so images you’d like to use on your site, or if your images are too large to send over email, I ask that you create a free Dropbox account to share those files. We can also securely share logins through Dropbox instead of sending them via email.

4. The Design Process

l

Step 1 - Layout and Design

One of the most time consuming parts of building a website is constructing the layout and design. I’ll draw up the aesthetic framework and send it to you for approval.

Step 2 - Development

Once the design is approved, I’ll move forward with development of each page, inputting your content and making everything completely responsive. I’ll also ensure that your site looks fantastic on both desktop and mobile browsers.

Step 3 - Revision and Edits

Once the site is fully developed, you’ll be able to make edits to each page until the entire site is fully revised.

5. Wrapping up and going live!

Once the site is ready to go live, I will remove all miscellaneous plugins, images, and pages. I’ll also save a backup of your site should it ever need to be restored. Once the site is live, please allow up to 48 hours for propagation to occur. Some computers will need to be refreshed to see the new site, although some will be able to see your site automatically depending on network connection.

After the site goes live, you’ll receive the link to my “Moving Forward” page where you’ll receive instructions for keeping your site secure and updated, as well as some tips for marketing with your new site.
